My Manifesto

America is failing women.

We’re told to put everyone first. We’re handed pills we don’t want and denied the support we need. We run households and businesses, and we run ourselves ragged trying to hold it all together.

I believe we deserve better.

I believe in a holistic approach to health and well-being. 

I believe in mind-body connection, stress management, and nutrition. 

I believe in clinical support, and I believe in helping women advocate for themselves within healthcare systems. 

I believe that nobody knows your body better than you do, so when you believe that something is not right?

I believe you. 

We rely on a healthcare system that prioritizes prescriptions and quick fixes and makes money when we’re sick. 

We deserve a system that wants us to be well.

We deserve to show up for ourselves. To pay attention to our bodies and listen to what they have to tell us. 

We deserve to try new things, let go of what does not serve us, and put as much energy into ourselves as we put into everyone around us. 

We deserve to live bright and vibrant lives. 

We deserve to heal. 

Through connection and open communication, we can better understand one another, bridge the gaps filled with silence, and break down the barriers of a divisive system.

Meet Your Coach

Hey there! I’m Jessica Dowches-Wheeler (she/her), or Jessica DW for short. I’m an expert champagne-popper, horror movie fanatic, Birman cat mama, and mentor for women leaders who are ready to reduce stress, reclaim radical rest, and set unapologetic boundaries around their time and energy so they can continue kicking ass in their careers.

I’m an Integrative Wellness Coach, Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner, and the Founder of Bright Space Coaching. As a former healthcare executive, healthcare consultant, health coach, caregiver, and BRCA “previvor,” I’ve seen all sides of the healthcare industry. Now, as a Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner, my mission is to help women navigate healthcare decisions and healthcare systems. Through my Mind-Body METHOD™ system, I help women take a preventative approach to their well-being, where rest is sacred, nutrition is queen, and movement is momentum. I’m currently a PhD student studying Mind-Body Medicine to advance research in the area of mindful leadership, health equity, and holistic well-being.

  • Having a life-changing conversation with a stranger at the airport

  • Spending so long at brunch with a friend that my husband had to drive to the restaurant to make sure I was okay (true story!)

  • Cuddling with my Birman brothers, Berlioz and Toulouse

  • Reading one of the hundreds of books I bought on a whim (a book is never a bad investment)

  • Crying dramatically while watching We’re Here or Ted Lasso

  • Sitting with my husband, Blake, at our favorite winery in rural Virginia, soaking up nature’s peace
